Wow Jeff, Maybe you should build a spaceframe version of a tandem – comfy, light and I would bet that there are a few peeps out there that would love one. Dual-eccentrics for an SS off-road tandem? That old one next to you had potential for restoration, but what a job that would be – tie up too much ride/design time for ya!
I plan on building one and have it drawn up. My old GT tandem is ok but something with better brakes and bigger wheels would be nice.
Yeah – I imagine that would be a lot of work, but it would be pretty cool. Lateral rigidity is always an issue on a tandem, and I bet a “Spaceframe tandem” could deal with that… And it would look totally cool too… The truss fork would totally fit into a tandem’s requirements also.
