I had a good long ride last night that went into the night. I didn’t take a light because I thought I could make it back before dark but the snow slowed me. When I went to get my back up emergency light that I always keep in my pack – I couldn’t find it. I was up on the mountain in the snow and ice and the sun was down. I made it back home riding by feel and memory and the light from Medford bouncing off the clouds. It was a good thing I had the fat front wheel. It saved me a few times.

I built up a new wheel that is lighter. The total bike weight with the fat wheel is 24lbs even.
