Jones in Japan

Here are two pictures and some words from a rider in Japan. He has a Jones… I haven’t corrected his writing much at all. He gets his point across and his English is infinitely better than my Japanese! He likes the bike.

“There was a MTB race in Nagano Prefecture on May 27. The race is the biggest long-distance MTB race in Japan. ‘Self-Discovery Adventure Otaki 100km’ is an event where a professional rider and an amateur rider ride together. About 1,000 participants gather in all the classes every year. I participated in the 100km class on a Jones singlespeed. Singlespeed is less than 5% of the whole. But, I rode the whole distance of the race safely. Race results cannot be seen yet. My Jones Bike is my No.1 partner.

“I love the bicycle which you considered and manufactured. It is because a Jones bike is the completely different bicycle to other MTB and others. Hill climb, downhill, and more. Once you get to know the center of gravity of the bicycle a Jones bike will carry out a wonderful motion. And it can be enjoyed not only in a race but in the broad field.

“I am impressed by the frame geometry which you considered early. This frame differs from other 29ers. A short wheelbase and a short chain stay… a singletrack and the turning characteristics going down a technical hill are good. And at the time of a hill climb traction capability is good.”
