I like this idea. Is that the kind of tubing you find on car braking systems? Do you have to do anything tricky between the rigid and flexible housings?

I use a Shimano 5mm junction ferrule to join the housings and then cover the joint with shrink tubing.

Is that standard Avid straight jacket tubing or something from a hardware store (like the aformetioned brake fluid line)? It looks great.

I’m thinking titanium aircraft hydraulic tubing would be super cool!

I get the tubing from a tubing supply house in sections long enough to do the front and rear brake. The Avid housing is too short and it’s harder to bend. I’ve tried aluminum tubing. It was lighter but too soft and too easy to bend or flatten. Titanium could be nice but I haven’t found any in the correct size yet. It would be more expensive and may be harder to bend.

Finally managed to source some appropriate tubing. Very impressed with the increased performance on bb7’s. Worth the effort. Thank you for sharing your thoughts Jeff.
