I built the rear wheel with a Shimano XT hub and Surly (50mm wide) Rabbit hole rim. The spokes are DT Competition and are laced to the left row of holes (in the rim) to build the wheel without dish. This allows for equal spoke tension and a stronger wheel. Spacers are added to the freehub so he can use the wheel with a single cog but they can be removed and a 10 speed cassette can be added later. Singlespeed or gears with same rear wheel.
