Taiwanese Road Bike

By Jeff|November 30th, 2012|

James has been out and about on his steel Jones again. The same bike he rode, off-road, in the French Alps this summer has now done some road miles in Taiwan. It’s great to see my bike(s) working so well. And James is certainly putting his to very full use. It seems to be […]

Aluminum Silver Loop H-Bar

By Jeff|November 30th, 2012|

Here is the new aluminum Loop H-Bar in silver on a singlespeed bike I’m building now.

I have H-bars

By Jeff|November 14th, 2012|

A fresh batch of H-bars has arrived. Most of the pre-ordered H-Bars have now shipped and the shop is there for people to order a set if they want to. Aluminum and titanium Loop H-Bars are in stock. Ti Cut H-Bars are in stock but the aluminum Cut H-Bar is sold out for now. […]

Knard on Jones. Another front wheel option.

By Jeff|November 10th, 2012|

OK – Surly sent me a few Knards. This is a 29×3″ tire. They’re calling it 29+ so people know there’s something extra going on here, and hopefully preventing a few “it doesn’t fit my frame!” exclamations. So, how does it fit with a Jones? Well it doesn’t fit in the rear. My bikes […]

Eccentric Bottom Bracket (EBB)

By Jeff|November 6th, 2012|

The bottom bracket shell for the eccentric on all Jones frames has the center section machined away. This saves weight but the main reason for this is to support the EBB at the widest points. Since the EBB is supported at the widest points and not at the center, it will not rock from […]

Spaceframe Pack

By Jones Bicycles|November 1st, 2012|

Spaceframe top tube packs are in stock now.

It straps tightly to the frame and is supported by two of the three “top tubes”. It is a good place for things you want quick access to while riding. This version is a little wider than the prototype.

6 Speed Cassettes

By Jeff|October 20th, 2012|

The next batch of Jones modified 6 speed cassettes is ready. This allows you to have 6 gears on a single speed hub for a stiffer and stronger (geared) wheel compared to a dished 9/10 speed wheel. I make each 6 speed cassette from a Shimano 9 speed cassette – a little careful machining. […]

Target / Practice

By Jeff|October 17th, 2012|

I had a good ride Sunday. I took out the new bike I built, the pre-production steel Diamond with unicrown frameset, that was at Interbike. A few specification details; all the spokes, front, rear, left and right are the same length and are equally tensioned. The hubs have different dimensions but the spoke length […]
