I went for a ride up the mountain to see if the trails were clear of snow on one of the loops I like to do from the shop. Most of the ride is on dirt roads and then it ends with some very steep and rutted motorcycle trials. It’s a good ride with almost no cars and not much pavement. That’s what I like. The loop was finally free enough from snow that I could ride the whole loop without pushing.

The bike is built with the 24″ diamond frame set and an 18 speed drive train, full fenders and lights. It’s a great all around bike to ride when I want to stay clean while riding on the wet and muddy roads and maybe stay out after dark. The gear range feels very good for riding at any speed but with only 6 gears in the rear I can still use a stronger, dishless rear wheel. I’ve reinforced the fenders with these little braces. They make them much stiffer. Stiff enough for rocky single track.

I normally ride the 23″ size but wanted this bike to be a bit longer and with a higher hand position. This makes it a little more stable and leaves more toe room to clear the front fender.

The stem is 90mm x 0 degree which puts my hands in almost the same position in relation to my seat but just a little higher. I have almost the same fit but with a longer front end. On a 23″ I normally would run a 100×10 stem

The fenders not only keep me clean and dry but do a great job of keeping the whole bike clean and free of grit. It makes riding out in the wet much easier on me and my bike’s parts.

These fenders fit on the SpaceFrame or Diamond frame and are available as an option with a frameset or bike. They will accept up to a 29″ x 2.55″ tire. The snow is still on the higher trails but should be gone soon.
